Stones Of The Sky For Solo Piano

Description

Stones of the Sky is a 25-minute work for solo piano by Cheryl Frances-Hoad, commissioned by the Three Choirs Festival. Inspired by Schumann’s Carnival, Pablo Neruda’s penultimate poetry collection Stones of the Sky and the gemstones of Switzerland’s Binn Valley, discovered during the composer’s residency at Musikdorf Ernen, the work brings together music, poetic and geological sources in a richly evocative piano composition.
