Doctor Jolly’s Quickstep

Description

An excellent holiday piece for an outdoor summer concert. Reviewed in the International Trombone Association Journal, Vol. XII, No.2, April 1984, p.57: excellent addition to the brass quintet literature; no real difficulties in this work; the optional percussion adds a little extra frosting to the piece very effectively; the work is written in a style similar to the numerous Scott Joplin quintet arrangements currently published, yet Dr. Jolly’s Quick Step is original and makes for a fine encore piece or just a change of pace selection for a brass quintet concert.
