Woodwind

Raaf Hekkema, Dutch saxophone virtuoso, has arranged Paganini’s famous 24 Capricci, Op. 1 for solo saxophone (soprano or alto depending on the register).

For flute and orchestra (piano reduction). This is a re-edited version of Griffes’ Poem. The piano accompaniment is truer to the original orchestration with flute solo editing by famous flutist James Galway.

A delightful miniature based on folk music from the composer’s native Moravia. Duration ca. 4 minutes.
