Based on Jupiter from The Planets, these two movements can be used interchangably as either processional or recessional for weddings, concerts, commencements or church occasions of any kind. Both movements are heroic and majestic.
James Curnow’s transcription of this lovely music for euphonium and piano strives to allow the beauty of the euphonium tone and expressive nature of the music to achieve a cohesive music experience for the performer, accompanist and listener alike. NOTE: This solo can also be performed with Mahler’s original orchestration.
