Jazz Guitar Chord-Melody Anthology

Description

Every chord has its own distinct personality that shapes the mood of a song, whether it is the warmth of a major seventh or the dark, soulful feel of a minor ninth. The Jazz Guitar Chord-Melody Anthology, arranged by guitarist Robert B. Yelin, shows players how to harness these harmonic qualities through 50 professional solo jazz guitar arrangements of 20th-century compositions. Written in both standard notation and tab, this collection focuses on using thoughtful chord selections to enhance the natural feel of each melody. This material is designed for guitarists who want to master chord-melody construction, expand their chord vocabulary, and learn how to place bass lines within chord shapes. The arrangements also demonstrate that chords with complex names do not have to be difficult to play!
