Trio F Sharp Minor Op. 115

Description

Robert Fuchs is largely unknown today. He owes his posthumous fame above all to the prominence of his pupils, including Mahler, Schreker, Strauss and Wolf. In Trio op. 115, the proximity to Brahms is clearly audible. The distinctive instrumentation with viola rather than violoncello and the unusual key of F# minor lend the work a special colour.
